What to Expect

Thinking of visiting Aspire? Here’s what you can expect…

What opportunities are there for my children? Aspire Kids is the children’s ministry of Aspire church. On Sunday mornings, we offer nursery and childcare for newborns through age 3. Most Sunday morning’s, we encourage families to worship together in the gym. We value and appreciate the life-giving, joyful noises children add to our worship gathering. On the fourth Sunday of each month, the children are invited to gather in the YMCA Teen Room for games, crafts and other activities! To learn more about Aspire Kids, visit the Aspire Kids page.

What should I wear? We want you to be comfortable. Therefore, you should feel free to dress as you like. Aspire is a relaxed and informal church. The common dress style is casual. On any given Sunday, you might see individuals wearing “church clothes” and others wearing jeans, shorts and flip-flops (which we also call “church clothes”).

Is there a youth group? Yes! Aspire is a worshipping community of Saint Joseph UMC. Therefore, we invite all of our students to participate in the student ministries at Saint Joseph UMC. On Sunday morning, we offer “Teen Talk” (a Bible study for our students) from 9:15-9:45am. We encourage our youth to participate in our worship gathering. We also encourage our students to find ways to serve at Aspire. If you have questions or would like more information, contact us at: students@aspire-church.com

Do I have to be a member of the YMCA to attend? No, you do not need to be a member of the YMCA to attend Aspire. All are welcome at Aspire!

What is the worship service like? Our worship gatherings will feature modern worship music. We will also regularly use non-Christian music that connects with the theme of our gathering. There will be meaningful, relevant, Bible-based messages. There will be times of prayer and reflection. We will also regularly incorporate other avenues of creative communication (video, artwork, drama, interactive participation, etc.).

How long is the worship gathering? Our worship gatherings will generally last one hour.

Is there coffee? Yes! We encourage you to arrive a little early to enjoy a cup of coffee, a cookie and conversation with others gathered at Aspire!

Why Aspire? We are a community of faith aspiring to live, serve and love like Jesus. Aspire is a relaxed, informal, family-friendly worshipping community. We offer exciting children’s programs, engaging worship, meaningful messages, excellent music, opportunities to serve the community and connect with others.
